WHAT DRIVES OUR RESULTS?

PROGRAMMING!!!

(And it doesn’t hurt that the atmosphere is fabulous!)

 

When people ask me what makes Breakthru Fitness so different from other clubs, I always say “We don’t smell like a gym.”  Okay, perhaps that’s not my first response (although it is true), but it’s a great question.  What really makes us different?  I tell people it’s because we offer a program-driven membership, not a membership-driven program.

Then I get the blank stare and the question “What the hell does that mean?”

Let me explain.

Although many consumers may still hold onto the idea that gyms are smelly places, loaded with sweaty guys in small tank tops, full of heavy weights and so many machines that you can’t move, that’s just not who we are.

As most of you know, Michelle and I started Breakthru Fitness because we believe that being fit is the best way for you to get the most out your life. We wanted to develop a place that would offer a supportive community and positive fitness atmosphere that educates its Members on how fitness can provide a more energized and inspiring life.

Here’s what we know:  we know people need support (they need to connect). And we know people need to know how do you do this fitness and nutrition stuff (they need education).  And we all need motivation to workout and stay fit (we require constant inspiration).

So what sets us apart from other clubs?

OUR PROGRAMMING

We are a program-driven club, meaning it’s our programs (Lose 2 Win, Metabolic Conditioning, Peak 10, Youth Performance Training) and our 90 Group Fitness Classes per week featured in our Group Ex Rooms, Momentum Cycling Studio and Pilates Reformer Studio, that drive our Membership.

Most studios offer 1 focus, 1 specialization.  However, we believe that you must approach fitness from every direction – you can’t just cycle your way to fitness, you need strength training.  You can’t just stretch your way fit, you need cardio, too.  And we know diet alone doesn’t work, so we provide both nutrition coaching and workouts to help people lose weight and feel great!

Most big box clubs are driven by membership:  you know their reputation – load as many people into the (big) box as possible, provide enough equipment with the hope that most of it is available to use and… wish members “good luck”.  They leave you on your own to figure it all out and that’s why most people will fail.  They have all this “stuff” but not a program or any direction on how to use it.  We all need a program to reach our fitness goals.  Why wouldn’t you want one?

Our programming is second-to-none in Pasadena. Not only is Breakthru the creator of Pasadena’s Best Weight Loss Program (Lose 2 Win), but it is also home to Michelle Dozois’ PEAK 10 Total Body Transformation System and where we recently hosted The Nautilus Max Trainer Challenge.

Through our programs, we teach people how to get fit by coaching them up on how to workout smarter; as a result, they get results.  We offer specific programs that address our Members’ specific needs.

 

OUR ETHOS (ATMOSPHERE + STAFF)

I use the term “ethos”, because there is a certain feeling you get when you are at Breakthru.  For one thing, we know our Members:  we are not a big box club, so we know our Members by name.  And they know us.  We know the classes they like and don’t like.  We know what they expect from us and we hold them accountable.

Where you work out is very important.  It needs to be convenient and accessible.  If it’s a hassle, you won’t get to the gym.  Pasadena’s pristine view of the San Gabriel Mountains provides the back drop to the club’s location. Breakthru is hip, modern, classy, and state-of-the-art, with a beautiful balcony-surround that enhances the abundance of privacy and natural light.  Situated in a central location for San Gabriel Valley residents, we are located on the 2nd level of The Shops on Lake Avenue, which offers ample free parking, and is conveniently located next to Trader Joes.

No matter how great the programs, you need an amazing team of people to implement them.  People who know how to challenge you, teach you, inspire you.  The moment you walk through the doors you are greeted with a warm smile and friendly “How are you doing today?”  From the owners (who both teach and train Members) to the cleaning staff, there is an amazing sense of ownership and a desire to help.   We are here to help you, guide you and challenge you to break free from your fitness “rut” and achieve the results you want for yourself.  We are your support team!

 

OUR RESULTS

Our results are our “pride and joy”.  For example, in our Lose 2 Win program, we have seen Members drop MORE THAN 30lbs, lose OVER HALF of their Body Fat, and increase lean body mass by MORE THAN 10% in just one 8-week session. Our Members’ results always astound, inspire and motivate us to continually grow and improve the programs we offer.

But, more than the physical changes we see, it is the newfound confidence, the incredible strength developed, the improved health and the overwhelming sense of community and teamwork in each and every one of our Members that participates in our programs here at Breakthru Fitness that leaves us in awe and fuels our fire to keep doing what we’re doing!

In March, we wrapped up our latest round of programs and the results were so incredible. Our Members and guests at Breakthru Fitness LOST OVER 880 POUNDS in just over 2 months!!! Here’s where they lost it:

  • Lose 2 Win – Participants lost a total of 267 pounds
  • PEAK10 – Participants lost a total of 220 pounds
  • Nautilus Max Trainer – Participants lost a total of 403 pounds

Meeting your health and fitness goals is possible when you have the right team, guidance, programming and the encouragement to show up and put in the work.
